Birth Trauma Therapy

Even if everyone is healthy now, you may still be carrying the emotional weight of what happened during labor, birth, or in the weeks after.

You might find yourself replaying moments from the birth, feeling anxious when you think about it, or struggling to reconcile your experience with the happiness others expect you to feel after having a baby. You may feel disconnected from your body, your baby, your partner, or the early days of parenthood.

You do not have to minimize what happened because your baby is okay now.

You deserve support in healing from a difficult or traumatic birth experience.

Together, we can work toward:

  • Understanding and processing your birth experience

  • Reducing the intensity of distressing memories and triggers

  • Making space for grief, anger, disappointment, and other complex emotions

  • Rebuilding trust in yourself and your body

  • Developing tools to manage anxiety and emotional overwhelm

  • Navigating changes in identity, relationships, and parenthood

  • Feeling more grounded and prepared when thinking about future pregnancies or medical care

Our work will be trauma-informed and guided by your needs, your goals, and your readiness.

You do not need to re-tell every detail of your birth to benefit from therapy.

Therapy can begin with building emotional safety, understanding what you are experiencing, and developing strategies to help you feel more grounded in the present.
